American Extracts is
proud to have natural and organic products to benefit our health
and environment. We have products for many uses. For controlling
odor in waste water management and animal feed. And for improving
soil and the health of plants and trees in agricultural applications.
Yucca plants used to manufacture saponin products
are obtained from native sources (not domestically) in Mexico and
the United States. Only mature specimens are harvested, leaving
more than half of the total plants to grow to maturity for future
harvest. When the mature plants are harvested, more rain water becomes
available for the young plants, accelerating their growth. Grazing
grasses also grow better after harvesting the mature yuccas, improving
the land for grazing purposes. All yucca harvesting is regulated
by the government assuring an ample supply of plants for the future.
American Extracts is
dedicated to making sure this natural resource is used wisely. The
plants are trucked in, mashed and cold-pressed to extract the cellular
liquid concentrate from the fiber. The liquid concentrates are then
processed at low temperatures guaranteeing all the ingredients of
the yucca to be active and intact just as they were created in the
yucca cells. The remaining fiber is dried and milled to a fine meal
utilizing all of the plant harvested.
ThermX-70, ThermX-15M and ThermX-15P are registered
with The Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). This is a nonprofit,
non-governmental organization started in 1997 to benefit the organic
community and the general public. Its primary mission is to provide
professional, independent, and transparent review of materials and
compatible processes
allowed to produce, process, and handle organic food and fiber.
OMRI assists the organic community by performing the necessary research
and information dissemination to allow certifiers, growers, handlers,
processors, and suppliers to make decisions about the status of
generic materials and brand name products. OMRI provides leadership
and guidance to the organic community in partnership with USDA's
Natural Organic Program. If you would like to find out more about
OMRI their web site is www.omri.org.
ThermX-70, ThermX-15M and ThermX-15P are also registered
with The Washington State Dept. of Agriculture as an approved material
for organic use. The Organic Food Program of Washington State has
created a list of approved brand name materials that may be used
in organic food production. This list, the Brand Name Materials
List, includes products that have been evaluated to determine that
they meet organic standards. Approved brand name materials have
been reviewed to verify that all of the ingredients comply with
organic standards. The Organic Crop Production Standards and the
Brand Name Materials List are available on the internet at: http://www.wa.gov/agr/fsah/organic/ofp.htm.
